1961 Porsche 356 B S90 Roadster - Sold

- An original Slate Gray with Red Super 90 Roadster

- Fully numbers-matching

- Restored by noted expert Tim Goodrich

- Incredibly correct and highly detailed throughout

- Complete with manuals, tools, Kartex and CoA

- One of the finest 356 Roadsters extant

As original specifications go, this 356 Roadster is certainly among the very best. With its original slate grey with red interior, this Porsche boasts the highest performance engine available in a Roadster, the desirable Super 90 - a combination which is exceedingly scarce.

This fully numbers-matching car benefits from a complete restoration by the late Tim Goodrich of Grants Pass, Oregon. Goodrich’s work remains the benchmark for 356 restoration, though the numbers of cars he completed was relatively few. With a reputation for seeking out the best, most original restoration candidate, Goodrich is known for truly restoring the car and its components, not just replacing them.

As seen on this S90 Roadster, nearly every part on the car is an original, period unit with minor exceptions for the usual consumables. From the ancillary components to the trim, lights, lenses, etc, the car is complete with factory parts and no reproductions. For example, the car’s original wiring harness remains, and is in perfect condition, the fuel tank and sending unit are date stamped and correct, and the dash knobs are original, and exceptionally nice. The car is truly impressive upon close inspection.

Given the age of this restoration, it is also great to see just how well it’s held up. The car is still in show ready condition, and Goodrich’s work, including the detail of the cosmetic finishes, shows the intended “factory new” presentation.

The car is also a delight to drive, and functions as you’d expect of such a high level example. Acquired in 2018 by the current owner, the car has been sparingly, though regularly used and cared for. The owner, who has completed numerous Pebble Beach restorations himself, has a reputation for perfection and his care for this 356 is in keeping with his high standards.

The Porsche is complete with an owner’s manual, Super 90 supplement, a toolkit, Certificate of Authenticity and more. We cannot speak highly enough of this car and we’re confident its combination of condition and original specifications can’t be repeated.
